Founded: The Sunshine Coast University College was founded in 1994, with the first students starting at the Sippy Downs campus in 1996. Full university status was granted to the new institution in 1998 and it became the University of the Sunshine Coast.
Location: Sippy Downs, Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia (100 kilometres north of Brisbane, Queensland's capital city).
Campus size: 100 hectares.
The University is registered in the Australian University category in the National Register of Higher Education Providers, meaning USC complies with the Higher Education Standards for Australian universities, made under Australia’s Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011.
Today, with around 10,000 enrolled students, USC is on track to reach projected student enrolments of 12,000 by 2015.
The University has also earned multiple five-star ratings for its educational experience, including overall graduate satisfaction, graduate satisfaction with generic skills, gender balance, Indigenous participation and electronic support.

Fees and study costs
2014 tuition fees for international students
- Undergraduate degree programs — A$8,900–A$11,000 per semester.
- Postgraduate coursework programs (on campus) — A$8,900–A$11,000 per teaching period (semester/session/trimester).
- Higher degrees by research (on campus) — A$21,000–A$23,000 per year.

- Academic English — A$150 application fee and A$330 per week full-time tuition.
Tuition fees are reviewed each calendar year. The fee you must pay for a given teaching period (semester/session/trimester) is that which has been approved by USC for the calendar year within which the teaching period falls.
