Fredonia is a comprehensive, public, liberal university in western New York offering bachelor's and master's degrees and advanced certificate programs.

Input condition

All international students are eligible for F-1 visas as long as they have been accepted into a program that meets the English requirements and can demonstrate funding for at least the first year of study. .

If you meet the F-1 visa standard, there are also other scholarships, grants or prizes for your first year of study from an outside source (this does not include family, friends or funds. equivalent to at least half of the tuition fee for the first academic year, you may also be eligible for a J-1 student visa. Student Exchange, regardless of sponsorship, is also eligible for a J-1 student visa.


As the cost of higher education continues to increase, Fredonia is working to develop new and innovative ways to help international students qualify for college.

Global Accreditation Scheme (GAC)
Fredonia is pleased to recognize that ACT Education Solutions, the Global Assessment Accreditation Program (GAC), is granted admission eligibility based on the following requirements:

High school completion certificate - certificate or diploma

  • The minimum GAC score is 2.0 (minimum score is 73 for transfer credit).
  • Complete all three levels of the GAC Program
  • Official ACT score and TOEFL iBT score of 79 or IELTS score of 6.5
  • Fredonia will award 33 transfer credits to our undergraduate programs based on an Approved Equivalence Agreement.

International Baccalaureate (IB)
International Baccalaureate Ex ams. College credit will be awarded for higher test scores (HL) years or above. In addition, some departments may provide college credit for a HL exam score of four. Students who have achieved an IB Diploma can be granted a maximum of 30 credits (including all courses completed through examination).

ONCAMPUS SUNY cooperates with Morrisville State College
Fredonia has a partnership agreement with Morrisville State College's OnCampus program. The program is offered through the Cambridge Education Group in the UK and allows students to build academic English skills and adjust to college life in the United States while earning college credit. Students completing the OnCampus program can transfer any credits earned from Morrissville and be considered for admission to the full university for Fredonia.

2 + 2 SUNY / CUNY AA and AS Transfer Agreement
SUNY graduates and CUNY graduates with AS or AA degree who wish to pursue full-time study at Fredonia are guaranteed admission to advanced academic degrees. To qualify, you must:

1. Submit your application by March 1 to receive it in the fall and before October 1 to receive it in the spring.

2. Provide the four year college (s) with a formal college transcript for two years indicating that three semesters of study completed by March 15 for admission in the fall and October 15 to received in the spring.
3. Complete all supplementary application materials by April 15th to be received in the fall and before November 15th to be accepted in the spring.

There are hundreds of student assistant jobs for Fredonia students. Students may apply for these jobs by accessing their individual departments as well as by completing the application form at the Student Affairs Office at 303 Maytum Hall.
