To help the young students wishing to study abroad realize the importance of choosing the right time for their overseas studying, UE organized the Mini talk named “Which time should you choose to study abroad?”

The Mentoring Program is series of many small talks where young students feel free to share their wonderings and receive many sharings about the real life at foreign countries. The mini talk “Which time should you choose to study abroad?” in 21/11/2015 attracted many young students and their parents attend.

Mr Nguyen Nhan Duc – Strategic Manager of UE was the chair of UE’s mini talks as usually. UE was also very pleased to invite Mr Cao Qui Dat to be the special speaker of this mini talk. He is the international student at Keele University – UK.

Mr Dat started the mini talk with his sharing about the first time when he chose to study abroad. He started school at USA when he was 16 years old, after that he came to UK to continue his study in 5 years. He said: “If I had the chance to decice again, I would also choose this time to start my overseas study, 16 years old was not too young but also not too old for studing at another country. To me, this is such an easy time to open my mind with many interesting things.”

Mr Duc decided to study at Singapore with the previous arrangement of his parents after graduating from his high school. After graduating from Singapore, he came back Viet Nam and had worked for 5 years. He got the MBA 100% scholarship at Durham Business School – UK. He said that studying at UK was his most right decision.

With the sharing of 2 speakers, young students excitedly raised their own wonderings about this topic. Many students wanted to get scholarship and started their overseas study quite early – right after graduating from high school, some after getting experience from work in 2-3 years. However, some thought they should completed the study and then focused on seeking a suitable job.

In general, to answer for the question “Which time should you choose to study abroad?” depends on the desire of each person, ages and psychological,… Some hesitated because of “culture shock” or lack of confidence. Talked about “culture shock”, Mr Dat said: “Most of the overseas students have to face this problem. However, native people are very friendly and kind to help you whenever you need their support.” Mr Duc convinced everyone when he shared: “Most of schools, especialy Top schools bases on many factor to choose their students, they don’t care much about a good background. You should take a lot of time in your essay, let show them what makes you different and your clear orientation in the future work. Therefore, don’t worry too much in applying for your dream school.”

During 1 and half hour of listening the stories and sharing from 2 speakers, young students from many universities got for themselves useful advice and hope that all of you can determine the best time for your plan of studying abroad.
