Unlike most other UK universities, we offer English language support FREE OF CHARGE to students throughout your academic studies at Bangor.
Specialist courses are also available for students needing to improve their English skills before starting on an academic course - there is a charge for these courses and they can be between 1 month and 18 months in duration - depending on the student's English level.
Support for International Students
Before arriving in the UK, students do not realise how much support they might need. At Bangor, we have a team of staff to take care of students, helping them to arrange essential things such as registering with a doctor, registering with the police, renewing the UK student visa, opening a bank account etc. If students have problems with the course, their fees, the place where they live or any other matter the team is there to help.
The team also organises 'fun' and social events - trips to London, Manchester, Liverpool, York and events and competitions at Bangor.
