Australian Maritime College (AMC) was formally established as a research institute attached to the University of Tasmania in January 2008, specializing in education, training and research related to the maritime sector.
Australian Maritime College (AMC) was formally established as a research institute attached to the University of Tasmania in January 2008, specializing in education, training and research related to the maritime sector. School is one of seven founding members of the International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU).
AMC has two campuses and a fire center, all in the north of Tasmania, Australia.
• The main campus is located in Launceston, right next to the University of Tasmania at Newnham, on the banks of the Tamar River.
• 2nd establishments based in Beauty Point, 45km north from Launceston, specialized training courses on operating ships.
• AMC Fire Center located in Bell Bay Maritime, from Launceston 40km to the north, was built to fire training for students and staff in the college.

Facilities to serve learning, teaching and research subjects worth of millions of dollars for international students is appreciated and used by government and maritime businesses worldwide gender; This gives students the opportunity to work in real projects and added value networks in the industry. In addition, the faculty and professional researchers, experienced in AMC also very close links with industry to support students.
Students have a wide choice of courses: full-time, part-time or distance learning online with the majors: operation of ships and protection of the marine environment, the design of advanced marine engineering works, aquaculture seafood or sea transport. AMC students can graduate with a lot of levels: vocational certificate, associate degree or bachelor until the certificates and postgraduate degrees, including a doctorate.
